Welcome to Our Blog

Welcome to our blog where you will find the latest news and events about At Duke Dog Coaching/Training in San Diego, California.

History

I have always loved animals ever since I was a child growing up in Africa. It came with the territory. I learned to relate to animals through love and devotion, which led me to the dog world. This became my favorite pastime and the least dangerous as you can imagine.

I became a serious student of canine behavioral training in the late ‘80s to early ‘90s. I proceeded to work with a number of dogs and joined my first working dog club in 1992, the Meridian Rottweiler League. I have been in the dog training business since then.

During the early years at the club, I got deeply involved with security dogs. I was the training director for the club from 1993 through 1996, working with the dogs and coaching their owners. I trained everything from new pups to correcting older dogs for obedience to advanced Schutzhund sport and security dog training.

I have continued to work with problem dogs and helped owners by coaching them in the dog sport and private in-home lesson for obedience.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

As you can see, we specialize in rehabilitating dogs through behavior modification programs and working with dog owners. We use a coaching program designed for each individual owner. This is our specialty as most training consists of the dog being left at a kennel and trained. This way, the owners are left in the dark and given a few follow up lessons and then the job is done.

However, this does not apply in our case. We pride ourselves in coaching our owners as much as their dogs. This helps owners to give their dogs instruction and correction instead of mixed signals that confuse the dogs.

We also have a large senior following as most of them have lost control over their dogs, but love them so and have the time and willingness to learn. We are here for you in supporting and training your best friends. Our in-house programs facilitate the dogs, and most of all, the owners. This way, they can become a team with their animals and have a new proud, happy relationship with them.

Contact us today to discuss your concerns and we’ll see what we can do to help you and your dog. Remember that when your pet’s unruly behavior starts getting on your nerves, all you have to do is dial our number.
